Author Biography
I’m a lifelong explorer of science fiction, fantasy, and the strange spaces where myth and imagination meet. As a United States Navy veteran and former Department of Energy nuclear specialist, I feel that I bring a unique depth of technical knowledge to my writing, weaving together the rigor of physics with the wonder of storytelling.
Now based in Australia, I have turned my passion for speculative fiction into Phoenix Quill, a space for stories, reviews, and reflections that honor both the golden age of pulp adventures and the modern search for meaning in literature. Under the banner of Galactic Tales and Cosmic Ink, I revisit the excitement of classic sci-fi while carving out new frontiers of my own.
Thanks for having a look. I have some ideas about how I can be different from other review blogs (see Galactic Tales) on the Internet. I have read quite a range of genres other than sci-fi and fantasy, so I am happy to share my thoughts on those also (except romance and erotica, apologies). I am also a Christian and know something of the struggles with reading these genres in the light of religious scrutiny.
I have also watched a ton of movies and played heaps of video games, so feel free to comment on that as well. My big idea is that if you have nowhere else to discuss appropriate matters, then you are always welcomed here:) That is why I have included the page Celluloid Dreams after some self-debate.
When I am not teaching physics or guiding students into the digital worlds of tomorrow, I can be found on mountain trails with a book in my pack, or at my desk charting the next adventure among the stars.
